I like soft rock infused with psychedelia and a bit of country. My favourite album is Carnival in Babylon by Amon Duul 2. I am in an acoustic band with Ant Pullen & Jan Higgins, playing local open mic nights.
I have had no formal musical education and don’t read music. I began playing the guitar at the age of five and have played lead guitar and sung in a number of bands over the decades. In 2009 I found that I could afford to buy a Boss 16 track recorder on which I have spent many hundreds of enjoyable hours. I also use “Audacity” to fine tune tracks. I generally avoid digitally created timing and heavy drumming. My “studio” is the front room of my house in Bovey Tracey, Devon. It includes a Yamaha keyboard and an old chapel organ. I do my own engineering. I am assisted by producer and guitarist Ant Pullen, plus other friends and relatives. The results of this, plus live tracks, can be found on my YouTube channel.
In 2025 I sent my album Aural Meliflections to DJ Mike Abbot at Riviera FM and he is playing individual tracks from it on his superb Wednesday Good Morning South Devon show, fortnightly at around 10.30am. My album “Darkness and Light”was reviewed in the local Herald Express newspaper but there has been little other publicity.
